This Autumn Chili Tomasson and the Cinema Electric present the Soundtrack to Carrying a Gun in its full length for the very first time, playing three exclusive concerts in Vienna, Prague and Salzburg. Furthermore the music is going to be released in a limited edition of LPs in physical form. With its duration of almost 60 minutes and distinctive four parts, Carrying a Gun is an intelligent, radical and wonderful Concept Album.

Carrying a Gun is the Soundtrack to the eponymous Lyric-Music-Theatre-Piece by Maria Sendlhofer and Chili Tomasson. The work was shown in Theatres in Vienna and Leipzig in November 2018 and January 2019.
Carrying a Gun thinks about radical left and feminist perspectives. It questions power-relations, language, body, the dogmatic supremacy of non-violent resistance and pacifism, its consequences and its intentions. Words are thought of as weapons and used in that way.
The music moves with the monotony of a machine developing a distinguished wall of sound with a wonderful dynamic. Small poems interrupt the scenery and work their way through empty spaces until an orchestra of electric guitars, accompanied by heavy drums and a charismatic tenor sax, enters and takes over. Using abstract forms and a fascinating plainness Chili Tomasson and the Cinema Electric tell of negotiations, conversations, plastic and glass.
